  • Centenary Concert - Over 200 people enjoyed a concert held on Saturday 1st December at Keighley Shared Church to celebrate the end of The Keighley and District Association for the Blind's centenary year. The concert was given by Haworth Band, Keighley Amateurs Junior Singing Club, Mr Alan Foster and Mr Ken Brook. The event raised £570 towards the centenary year Go Digital Appeal to convert the 1,000 audio books on cassette tape to CD. The appeal has raised a total of £6,600.

    The Association would like to thank all our supporters for their generosity.

  • Go Digital - The Go Digital Appeal now stands at £7,270.36. The Morecambe bay challenge has so far raised £3,519.36.

  • Morecambe Bay Challenge
    59 Walkers crossed the sands of Morecambe Bay on Saturday 21st of July, guided by the Queen's Guide Cedric Robinson MBE. The event was organised by the Appeals Sub-Committee as part of the Association's Centenary Go Digital Appeal to raise £6,000 to convert the Associations 1000 audio book tape library to CD. The Committee would like to thank walkers, volunteers, sponsors, Mr Robinson and the St John Ambulance Lonsdale Unit for their support. And it is hoped the event will have raised £2,500.

  • London Marathon -Mr Peter Robinson of Sutton - In - Craven, a Friend of the Association and Committee Member, who celebrated his 70th birthday in January, completed the London Marathon on Saturday 22nd April.

    Despite the hot and humid conditions, Peter enjoyed the day and finished the marathon in 5 hours and 39 minutes. Of the 35,669 runners who finished the marathon, Peter was the 32,907th runner to finish.

    So far Peter has raised £1,222.80 towards our Go Digital appeal.
