Morecambe Bay Walkers set to raise over £2,000
Mr David Ogden, the President of Keighley Lions pictured on the right is seen presenting a cheque for £1,000 from his president's fund to the Chairman of Keighley and District Association for the Blind, Mr Keith Trott. The generous donation will be put to the See Hear library project which is to purchase additional digitising equipment to enable volunteers to convert the association cassette tape book library to CD. Kevin Baldwin, Chief Executive of the Association says "We have been in the process of digitising the books since April 2008, so far we have converted 457 books with a further 769 tape books to convert. This equipment is vital so that we can bring our valued CD Library into service in October in 2009. The association organised a walk on Saturday 20th June across Morecambe Bay with the Queen's Official Guide Mr Cedric Robinson 38 walkers joined over 100 other walkers and it is anticipated that over £2,000 will have been raised towards the Hear Say Library project.
